AI agents can now retrieve and run fund calculations in Maybern, investigate breaks with administrator figures and draft reports.
Mai, our fund agent, works inside Maybern as your teammate to prepare activity and perform analysis. Mai uses Maybern's rails so that all calculations remain deterministic – they're based on your fund's data, waterfall and fee terms, and configured calculations. Mai explains each step as it works. Any action that would change data requires approval.
For firms that work with a third-party fund administrator, Mai can now take the administrator's results in whatever format they arrive in, and reconcile them against Maybern's calculations automatically. No reformatting Excel files or templates are needed.
Mai goes beyond flagging where the numbers don't tie. For each discrepancy, it diagnoses the likely root cause, such as a missed fee offset, a different allocation basis, or a timing difference, so your team can start the reconciliation with an explanation instead of a spreadsheet hunt. Work that used to take hours of tie-outs each quarter now comes down to reviewing Mai's findings and resolving the few breaks that matter.
Report Builder uses calculations already configured in Maybern, so firms do not need to recreate fund logic for reporting. Reports can show a point-in-time result or a monthly, quarterly or annual trend. Investor relations teams can set the parameters they need, and one template can run at the fund, LP or investment level.
The Maybern MCP server lets any AI agent, built on any model, work directly with your fund data and logic. Agents can pull the numbers Maybern has already calculated as of any date, or run your fund's configured terms (waterfalls, fees, allocations) to answer questions no one has asked yet. Every answer comes from Maybern's own calculations rather than the model's best guess, and each result is logged with the request behind it, so anything an agent produces can be traced and audited.
Each fund family can now be denominated in any single currency. Maybern calculates waterfalls, closings and fees in that currency. It also ingests FX rates from a firm's chosen source, so historical figures use the rates in its workpapers. Firms with non-dollar vehicles can keep those funds on the same platform as their dollar-denominated funds.
Maybern's navigation has been rebuilt around a single streamlined sidebar. Users can pin the fund families they work with most frequently, use keyboard shortcuts to quickly navigate the platform, and work with Mai directly on any page.
Select customers are piloting Scenario Modeling with their own fund data. It projects a fund month by month over its life given a set of projected deal cashflows, using the waterfall, fee and performance logic configured for actuals. Mai (or any agent using Maybern's MCP) can create new cases of projected investment cashflows in Maybern, run scenarios and sensitivities and compare results against other scenario runs.
By November, every customer is scheduled to receive Maybern's new financial reporting experience. Firms will be able to record deal by deal P&L in the Transaction Register as activity occurs (as opposed to a single quarterly fund amount). They can apply a different allocation to each entry, retain the audit trail and trace NAV to LP-level transactions.
